ALL PASSENGERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK PRIOR TO ENTERING THE BUS AND WHILE ON THE BUS.

Nose and mouth must be completely covered

No eating or drinking is allowed on the bus

Federal Transit Mask Mandate

As defined in the Federal Order, a mask must:
1. Completely cover the nose and mouth
2. Fit snugly
3. Be secured to the head either with ties
or ear loops
4. Should be a solid piece of material without slits,
exhalation valves, or punctures

Under CDC guidelines the following are NOT ACCEPTABLE

Passengers not complying with CDC Guidelines will be denied service

Effective Monday, Feb. 8

Due to the construction on the Central St Canal, the LRTA bus will not be able to utilize Central Street. The following routes will be affected.

Route 18 Downtown Shuttle

Outbound: Regular outbound to John and Merrimack St.

Inbound: Merrimack St. to left on Dutton St. Continue to Kennedy Center. (Market St passengers will have to go to Merrimack St or Dutton St to catch the bus)

Route 9 Lowell Circulator

Outbound: Regular outbound route.

Inbound: Regular inbound to Merrimack St. at City Hall, Right on Dutton St. to Kennedy Center.

Starting Wednesday May 6, 2020

ALL PASSENGERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK PRIOR TO ENTERING THE BUS AND WHILE ON THE BUS.

On May 1, 2020Governor Baker issued an order requiring everyone to wear a face covering in public – Including on Public Transportation. Passengers are responsible for having a nose & mouth covering which can range from a medical mask to a bandanna, scarf or t-shirt to a homemade or painters mask, etc.

All riders are required to exit the bus at the end of its route. Multiple or consecutive round trips are not permitted and riders who appear to be loitering on the bus will be asked to deboard.

The LRTA provides fixed route bus services and paratransit services to the city and 14 surrounding communities. These connect at the Gallagher Intermodal Center to the Lowell Line of the MBTA commuter rail system, which connects Lowell to Boston. The terminal is also served by several intercity bus lines.

The LRTA offers commuter parking at the Gallager Intermodal Center and at the North Billerica Train Station.
